A Littlest Big Farm built with earthen walls

Campaign video coming soon

Built by us. Grown with you. · Cherry Valley, California

A little farm.
A future we can grow together.

Help build the home of Littlest Big Farms—a place to build, test, and teach, so more people can grow food close to home.

Meet the Littlest Big Farm

A lot of possibility.
A little footprint.

A farm the size of a backyard shed, bringing food and the joy of growing closer to home.

Heat, cold, wind, and pests can make growing outdoors a challenge. We bring earthen construction, environmental controls, and flexible growing systems together to create a more manageable place to grow.

Food is love. Know where your food comes from and what goes into it. We’re working toward a more resilient food system, one small farm at a time.

Small enough to bring closer.A compact facility for homes, schools, and communities.

Built around the growing environment.Insulation, ventilation, sensors, and controls working together.

Room to find your kind of growing.Explore crops and systems suited to your goals and conditions.

Crop suitability and results depend on the farm’s configuration, climate, and care.

Already taking root

We’re building from experience.

01 / BUILD

Farms you can step inside.

We’ve built four Littlest Big Farms, with two more on the way in the coming months. Each one helps us test, learn, and improve.

02 / GROW

Food from the work.

Over the years, we’ve grown more than 40 different crops side by side at the same time, including citrus and mulberry trees, leafy greens, and mushrooms. We’ve grown saffron, strawberries, and tomatoes alongside mealworms.

03 / SHARE

Learning by doing.

We’ve taught practical growing and AgTech skills to more than 60 small farmers across the Inland Empire through workshops and farmer training.

What your support makes possible

The next step starts here.

This first $150,000 milestone supports the foundation for what comes next.

01

Secure our base.

Move toward purchasing the Cherry Valley property where we grow, test, and build.

02

Put more into the next farms.

Support the materials, tools, and hands-on work that go into each Littlest Big Farm.

03

Build the next chapter.

Support our fabrication capacity and the continued development of Littlest Big Farms.

A little more about the funding

This is our first friends, family, and supporters campaign. The $150,000 milestone is part of a larger funding need; it does not cover the full property purchase or every expansion plan. These are our priorities, not fixed dollar allocations. We’ll share spending decisions and progress in campaign updates.

The main tracker counts funds received for this campaign, including our initial funding. Donations to Esperanza go directly to them and appear only in their tracker. Refundable Littlest Big Farm reservations are also kept out of the main total, but are shown separately so the campaign stays transparent about where support is coming from. Gifts to From The Land support a for-profit business and are not tax-deductible charitable donations.

Our vision for Cherry Valley

One place to build.
Possibilities far beyond it.

We envision our 4.3-acre site as the working home of Littlest Big Farms: a fabrication base, a prototype and demonstration facility, and an AgTech innovation hub.

Our vision for the land · Concept illustration, not to scale. Development and activities depend on funding and required approvals.

Build here. Grow elsewhere.

A base to prefabricate and assemble facilities, then prepare Littlest Big Farms for delivery. Site work, installation, and solar are handled separately as applicable, with licensed work performed under the appropriate agreement.

Test it. Learn from it.

Prototype and demo farms where we can trial growing systems, controls, and new technology before making vetted improvements available to owners.

Open the door to discovery.

Hands-on workshops, school visits, and a maker space for growing, 3D printing, sensors, and practical problem-solving.

Bring people together.

A vision for a community market, growing plots, composting, and welcoming spaces where neighbors can share what they grow and make.

The future we’re working toward

A Littlest Big Farm.
Closer to everyone.

Imagine a network of small farms woven into neighborhoods and communities—so fresh food, growing knowledge, and a working farm are never far away.

We envision a shared platform with local ownership and a consistent foundation of tested technology. People could participate in the way that fits them.

Three ways to be part of the future network

Company-run farms

We operate.
Local teams tend.

Facilities run by From The Land, with employees caring for crops and daily operations.

Connected owners

Your farm.
A shared network.

Owners could opt into a paid membership with access to our planned farmer marketplace, shared resources, and discounts on new technology.

Independent owners

Your farm.
Your own path.

Own a Littlest Big Farm without paying to join the network. A path for people who want their own growing space and independence.

Test here. Share what works.

New technologies would be tested and vetted at our prototype and demo facility, then deployed at company-run farms or made available to Littlest Big Farm owners.

This network is our long-term vision, not a launched membership or franchise offering. Services, fees, technology availability, and participation terms are still being developed.

The people behind the farms

Hi, we’re
Gina & Rich.

A scientist, an engineer, and a married couple who love turning “what if?” into something real.

We’ve bootstrapped every way imaginable to bring From The Land this far. We build, grow, teach, and keep learning—because we believe more people deserve the tools to grow food and shape their own future.

Now we’re inviting you to help build what comes next. No green thumb required. Just a little curiosity and a belief in what we can grow together.

Give a Gift

For the quietly supportive: give any amount, skip the reward, and follow along at your own pace. No spotlight required—just our gratitude.

Rewards & Experiences

Choose something to grow, make, learn, or enjoy. Limited-capacity rewards are released in real fulfillment batches, and orders are queued in the order paid. We tucked the playful, personal, and slightly weird options into Just for fun so they can have personality without crowding the core campaign rewards.

Fulfillment queues, batches, and scheduling

Physical rewards are placed in a fulfillment queue in the order paid. Where a reward shows a Batch 1 quantity, that is the amount we are committing to in the first release—not a lifetime limit. If demand is strong and capacity supports it, we can open a later batch with a later fulfillment window.

Custom designs require an agreed scope. Workshop and tour dates are scheduled by mutual availability. Current fulfillment or scheduling windows are shown on each reward, and cancellation/refund rules are covered in our published campaign terms. The $1,000 mealworm subscription is one payment covering 24 monthly deliveries. Littlest Big Farm Priority Reservations are offered separately below and are not counted toward the $150,000 campaign total.

Need something more ridiculous?

We kept the core rewards practical, but crowdfunding is allowed to have a personality. A few intentionally absurd options also exist in our Square catalog:

  • $10,000 — Build Something Weird with Us.
  • $10,000 — Rich will not start a new project for 24 hours.
  • $25,000 — Gina gets to finish one project before Rich starts another.
  • $50,000 — Name Rich’s next suitable robot.
  • $100,000 — Pick the next ridiculous thing we try to grow.
  • $250,000 — Name a future Littlest Big Farm.
  • $999,999 — Save Gina from Rich: take him for a week.

These are deliberately not one-click checkout rewards. If someone is actually serious, we will coordinate scope, scheduling, safety, and logistics before taking a very large payment.

Donate to Esperanza

Bring the possibilities of a Littlest Big Farm to our nonprofit partner in Sky Valley. Join this community project with a direct gift to Esperanza.

$60,000partner project goal

Partner fundraising total will be reported when available.

Your donation goes directly to Esperanza through their Zeffy page, outside our cart. Their donation page and receipt will explain tax treatment. These funds are tracked separately from our campaign total.

Help finance what comes next.

Considering providing a loan to From The Land? Contact us directly to discuss the amount, interest rate, schedule, and written agreement.

Loans are arranged directly with us, outside checkout. The interest basis, terms, and risks will be set out in the agreement.

Invest with a SAFE.

Interested in helping build the future of Littlest Big Farms? Talk with us about a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE).

A SAFE is an investment agreement, separate from gifts, rewards, and loans. Terms, eligibility, and risks are discussed directly; no investment is purchased through this cart.

Your idea belongs here, too.

You can also invite friends to discover the campaign using the share button in Updates.

Separate from the crowdfunding total

Reserve your own Littlest Big Farm.

A $6,000 fully refundable Priority Reservation establishes your approximate place in our production queue.

This is not the purchase of a Littlest Big Farm and is not an installation or construction contract. When your place approaches production, we will work with you on final configuration, pricing, delivery, and any separately contracted installation or solar options.

  • Fully refundable until you sign a later Final Purchase Agreement.
  • Uncapped: we show how many reservations have been completed rather than pretending there are only a few spots.
  • Refundable reservation dollars are tracked separately and do not increase the $150,000 campaign total.

Updates from the farm

A few things to know.

Is my gift to From The Land tax deductible?

No. From The Land LLC is a for-profit business. Gifts and reward purchases through this cart are not charitable tax-deductible donations. Esperanza receives its donations separately and provides its own donation information and receipts.

How do the reward choices work?

Each reward tier includes your choice of one listed option. Add more quantities to receive more of that choice, or add a different choice from the same tier separately. The $1,000 mealworm subscription is one payment for 24 monthly deliveries of 5,000 live mealworms; it is not a recurring monthly charge.

What does the $6,000 Littlest Big Farm Priority Reservation cover?

It secures approximate priority in our Littlest Big Farm production queue. It is fully refundable until you enter a later Final Purchase Agreement, and it is not the purchase of a complete farm or a construction, installation, or solar agreement. When your place in the queue approaches, we will work with you on configuration, final pricing, delivery, and any optional installation or solar services. Those services are priced and contracted separately as applicable.

How does checkout work?

Once checkout opens, Square will securely handle payment details on its hosted checkout page. We update the campaign only after Square confirms the payment to our campaign backend.
